I wonder how much of it has to do with the stronger (at least I think it’s stronger) stigma of divorce in the NorthEast…
You think that the North East has a stronger stigma on divorce? I would say it would be less. Here, divorce is accepted as something that happens. In the red states, divorce is seen as a bad thing. Now, it might be more stigmatized here than in California (CA can be really liberal), but I would say that the blue states and the more socially progressive areas would have less stigma on divorce.
