Peter Singer’s long-overdue entry into the current national health care debate. Of course none of the people on TV and radio whose job is to yell and stir up passion will care about his logic. Hopefully enough rational people will. Because he is right.

Additionally, not enough is being said about why some drugs cost so much, and what can be done about that. The article touched very briefly on the fact that in Britain, the caps have forced down the cost of *some* drugs. But when you hear about drug companies publicly admitting that they are going to charge as much as possible (far above the R&D and production costs, with some healthy profit on top) simply because they know that people will have no choice but to pay…
